Program Summary

An extension of the Certified Agile Leadership 1 (CAL 1) Workshop. 

This CAL 2 Program is a 9-month education and practice-oriented leadership cohort program for people who have previously attended a Certified Agile Leadership 1 (CAL1) Workshop, have had an “AHA!” in their personal leadership awareness, and are ready to begin a deeper journey into improving their mindset and practice as a leader.

2018 Program Agenda (This program is underway)

A virtual and professionally facilitated leadership cohort education and practice program over a 9-month period from April through December 2018. Multiple small cohorts (3-5 participants) are running through the 2018 calendar year.

Individual 1-1 Coaching Sessions:

  • Individual 1-1 coaching sessions in April, May and December will be scheduled based on participant and facilitator schedule.
  • April and May coaching sessions focus on leadership assessment and goal identification.
  • December coaching sessions focus on goal review, reflection and feedback.

Cohort Coaching Sessions:

  • Cohorts will be small and intimate groups of 3-5 participants that fully engage in the program – nomass classes.
  • Cohorts will be professionally facilitated by Pete Behrens on every other session, and cohort self-facilitated in-between.
  • Multiple cohorts will run through this 2018 schedule illustrated above on this tab.
  • Cohorts will meet virtually on Fridays or Mondays based on time preferences of each cohort.
  • Cohorts will meet virtually weekly in June and July, and bi-weekly in September through November.
  • Cohort participation is expected to be live. Sessions will be recorded in the rare occasion of a scheduling conflict.

Leadership Development Focus

Participants will undergo an individual 360-degree assessment, 1-1 coaching, and peer-based collaboration on their leadership mindset and awareness. This program leverages the Leadership Agility Maturity Framework introduced in the CAL 1 Workshop and helps leaders see their own leadership experience and mindset in practice.

While most leaders execute at one level below their current thinking, resulting in a mismatch between their leadership intent and engagement outcomes, leaders through this program will increase their personal awareness and effectiveness.

Your Commitment

You should attend if you meet the following criteria:

  • Have completed a Scrum Alliance CAL I Program (through any provider)
  • Are committed to personal and organizational leadership growth
  • Currently engaged in an organization where you can practice leadership
  • Are willing and able to engage in a 9-month program with active practice (see agenda)
  • Can commit to attending weekly and bi-weekly cohort sessions (see agenda)
  • Are willing and able to share experiences and learning in a small cohort setting
  • Certification will be granted to participants who participate fully in the program.
  • You are welcome to joining the program without going through the full certification process.

Multiple intimate cohorts (3-5 people) will follow the same 2018 schedule.

2019 and Beyond…

We will be reviewing the success and challenges from the 2018 Program to inform our 2019 Program.

Program Facilitator

Pete Behrens is a Leadership Agility Coach with Trail Ridge Consulting focusing on leadership and organizational agility.

He provides guidance to senior executives on how to transform themselves and their companies to work more effectively with more agility. His leadership has enhanced agility across many organizations including, GE Healthcare, Google, McKinsey & Company, and more.

Pete is a Certified Leadership Agility 360 Coach providing one-on-one assessment, development and guidance for increasing the agility of organizational leaders.

Pete is a Certified Enterprise Coach (CEC) and a Certified Scrum Trainer (CST) working deeply with organizations to improve their organizational agility. He was the founder of the Scrum Alliance CEC Program.

His focus today mostly centers on Developing Agile Leaders through public events and private engagements. He led the development of the Certified Agile Leadership (CAL) Program for the Scrum Alliance.

Pete is on the board of directors for the Scrum Alliance, providing strategic consulting and guidance to improving the world of work.
